<p>An internal mixer is of the type which comprises a mixing chamber (11) having one or more mixing rotors (12), and a floating weight (15) which is movable between an upper lifted position when charging material into the mixing chamber and a lower pressing position for applying pressure to material in the mixing chamber during a mixing stage. In accordance with the invention, the lift means (23-25) for lifting the floating weight (15) up to its lifted position is a fluid-operated piston-cylinder mechanism (23-25) in which the cylinder (25) is formed internally of the floating weight.</p> |
