摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To rapidly and reliably detect a deficiency in oxygen state without the occurrence of incomplete combustion by a method wherein an ion current detecting means and an ignition means are disposed in the vicinity of an auxiliary burner port on the upper stream of a catalyst layer, flame is formed at the auxiliary burner port at intervals of a given time during a specified time, and when a given current value is not obtained by the ion current detecting means, combustion is suspended. CONSTITUTION:When catalytic combustion by using kerosene is effected in an air ratio of, for example, approximate 1.5, even when oxygen concentration is decreased to 15%, an oxygen amount is sufficiently ensured as a total value. An actual oxygen excessive rate is maintained at approximate 1.1 and combustion reaction at a catalyst layer 8 is left continued, but oxygen concentration is in a non-safe region. In which case, when an ignition electrode 6 is energized and flame is formed at an auxiliary burner port 5, an oxygen short state can be detected by a flame rod 7 by means of a change in an ion current flowing through flame. When a value exceeds a set value, it is decided that combustion is in a deficiency in oxygen state, a pump 2 is stopped through a control part 10, and combustion can be suspended. Since stop control is practicable according to a set condition of a current value when oxygen concentration is 18% or 16%, non-safe working state can be prevented from occurring.</p>
