[Also in Division G3] A pressure regulating valve has the closure member 7A biased opened by pressure in chamber 20A which communicates with the inlet 23A by a small bore tube 8A and is vented to atmosphere about the periphery of the diaphragm 14A when the adjustably-loaded disc 15A moves thereoff. The value of the pressure in chamber 20A which is determined by the loading of leaf spring 2A determines the value of the reduced outlet pressure in chamber 21A. If the loading 2A is reduced disc 15A moves off diaphragm 14A to vent chamber 20A and the diaphragm thereafter moves off housing shoulder 26A to vent chamber 21A. The leaf spring may be replaced by an adjustable coil spring. In another use of the valve point 30 is connected to a force-producing device indicating a position parameter so that the outlet pressure varies as a function of the input force at 30 and is used to operate a remote indicating device.</p> |
