1,225,393. Transistor detector. TELECOMMUNICATIONS RADIOELECTRIQUES ET TELEPHONIQUES. 23 Aug., 1968 [25 Aug., 1967], No. 40361/68. Heading H3T. The non-linear shape of the current voltage characteristic of the emitter-base junction of a transistor 3 operating as a detector, is compensated by supplying the input signal 1 to the base through a diode 2 biased by a resistor 4, the output circuit including a filter 5, 6. The transistor and diode are matched as closely as possible, either by selection of a resistor 4 to give an appropriate current flow in the diode, or by using as the diode the emitter base junction of a further, identical transistor (3<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 2, not shown). Diodes (2,2<SP>1</SP>) may also be included in the emitter circuits of the twotransistor arrangement to increase the magnitude of signal which may be safely handled. |
