PURPOSE:To enhance processability for a device jammed with sheets by providing a carriage unit in such a way as to be movable to the direction opposite to that of delivery while the sheets are delivered to a sheet housing means, thereby providing a wide work space for users above the sheet housing means. CONSTITUTION:A carriage unit 1 or 2 holding a sheet S moves the sheet S to the delivery direction so as to delivery it onto a sheet housing means 183 at a specified position by means of carriage rollers 20 and 23 or 57 and 59. In this case, the carriage units 1 and 2 are moved to the direction opposite to the sheet delivery direction while the sheet S is being delivered. This enables the sheet S to be delivered out of the tip end position of the sheet housing means 183, thereby letting the sheet S be stably delivered to the sheet housing means 183. |
