A device for monitoring a switch (10) adapted to indicate the closed state of a seat belt buckle includes resistive elements (21A), (22A) in at least one monitoring current loop (23A). If a contact element (12) is at an erroneous potential due to interruption of a current path outside or inside the switch (10) this is detected in a test circuit (not shown). A contact (14A) and a switching finger (11) are mounted on conductor bridges (14A, 17) between pairs of terminals (15A, 16A, 18, 19). ……
