Cyclic anthranilic acid acetic acid derivatives of the following formula, <CHEM> wherein R<1> and R<2> each independently indicate a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms; and their acid or alkali salts are useful as drugs for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, as antirheumatic agents and as therapeutic or prophylactic agents for the treatment of metabolic bone diseases.
