A pipe testing and closing device having a fixed, tubular cylindrical inner part and two annular pressure chambers, arranged at a distance from one another in the axial direction, whose outer surfaces can rest on a pipe which is to be tested or closed when they are subjected to pressure, is improved in that the two pressure chambers are connected to one another on the inner side by means of at least one layer which essentially has tensional strength in the axial direction, and are freely movable in the axial direction such that their inner side walls approach one another when the applied pressure is increased. <IMAGE> |
