CONFIRMATION SYSTEM FOR ULTRASONIC BOLT CLAMPING OPERATION

PURPOSE:To easily confirm the defect of a bolt in a clamped state and whether the clamped state is proper or not in a short time by detecting a singular point of the shape and a nearby defect and comparing the peak value of a detected received echo signal with a reference value for detection. CONSTITUTION:A defect decision processing program 14c on a main memory 14 calculates the absolute values of differences from the comparison reference value of reference bolts which are stored in data storage areas 14f corresponding to respective gates G1, G2, and G3 by the respective gates by using respective measurement data on bolts 2 inserted into a member 3 which are obtained as to gates set by a gate control program 14b and decides whether the calculated values are larger than the specific reference value or not to detect a defect when the reference value is exceeded. Further, when gates G4 and G5 are set and measurement data are obtained, it is decided whether or not a measured value obtained from an A/D converting circuit 8a exceeds a threshold value and a defect is detected when the threshold value is exceeded.
