A method and device for cutting material such as baked cake comprising a base assembly including a cutter for use on a flat surface, the cutter having a length of cutting filament attached thereto which is embedded in the material to encircle it when a marginal cut is formed the cutter being adjustably fixed in the base assembly the encircling filament upon being tightened acting to complete the cut to form thin or thick slices in the cake. |
