PURPOSE:To improve the responsiveness by providing a radiation pulse counting means for counting a radiation pulse from a radiation detector and outputting the counted value. CONSTITUTION:A digital counting rate meter counts a radiation pulse from a radiation detector 2 by a pulse count module 4, stores this pulse counted value in a queuing structure of first-in first-out of a memory 5 by a prescribed period, calculates a counting rate and a variation rate by taking a difference of the previous output counting rate and the present input counting value from the store contents of this memory 5 by a microprocessor 6, fetches the number of pieces of counting values required for an operation from the queuing structure of the memory 5, based on this counting variation rate and a standard deviation, calculates the counting rate, based thereon, and outputs it to the outside through an output interface 9. Accordingly, the responsiveness can be improved.
