PURPOSE:To improve operability by providing the camera with a timer means which limits the length of time that an AF lock functions, which follows the actuation of an AF lock switch, to a fixed length of time. CONSTITUTION:The camera is provided with the timer means 1a which limits the length of time that the AF lock functions, which follows the actuation of the AF lock switch 5, to the fixed length of time. Above-mentioned fixed length of time generally means that alpha is added to the length of time that a shutter is caused to be released after an AF lock button 5 is operated. In this manner, when the shutter is not released for the fixed length of time even if the AF lock switch is being actuated, the AF lock function is cancelled to resume the AF function; and thus, operability in switching between the AF lock function and the AF function can be improved. |
