This display stand comprises vertical elements 4 having notches 6 that support the middle parts of the spectacles 8, and plates 5 provided with openings 7 supporting the spectacle arms. Connected to each vertical element 4 is another element 9 capable of vertical movement, also having notches 10, and movable between a down position in which it releases the spectacles and an up position in which the spectacles are not released. Common control means 12 are provided for simultaneously moving all the elements 9 between their down position and their up position and for locking all these elements in the up position in which the spectacles 8 are not released. Application: theft-resistant security for display stands in points of sale. <IMAGE>
