The invention relates to the use of phenylethanolaminotetralins of formula: <IMAGE> in which X represents hydrogen, a halogen, a trifluoromethyl group or a lower alkyl group, and R represents hydrogen or a methyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted with a carboxyl or lower carbalcoxy group, for the preparation of medicaments intended for the treatment of ocular disorders. Application: treatment of ocular hypertension and of glaucoma.
