Insert material used for widening the gingival sulcus, substantially without bleeding or oozing, particularly in order to make a cast for a dental prosthesis. According to the invention, this material takes the form of a biocompatible paste which is injectable for external use and preferably hydrophilic. Its viscosity is of between about 13,000 and about 30,000 Pascals.second. Applications in dental surgery.
