PURPOSE: To cut the specified wavelength area of incident light with few parts and to optically filter polarized light by making filtered polarized light incident on layer structure and exciting a face plasmon. CONSTITUTION: Filtered polarized light is made incident on layer structure and the then the face plasmon is excited. Namely, the optical filtering of parallel polarized light, which the plasmon face uses polariton, is executed when the incident angle of filtered light has a specified numeric value. Since distribution depends on the wavelength of plasmon face polariton, only the plasmon face polariton of the specified wavelength is excited only at the specified incident angle of light. The resonance condition of plasmon face polariton is fitted to the other wavelength by changing the incident angle and a filter can be tuned. Thus, turning can be realized for the wider wavelength area. |
