<p>PURPOSE:To enhance receiving sensitivity and directionality by using an array antenna in either one of or both of transmitting and receiving antennae. CONSTITUTION:After transmitting and receiving array antennae 9A, 9B each consisting of a plurality of element antennae are allowed to fall in a boring hole by rising and falling depth measuring devices 11A, 11B, a waveform signal is transmitted from the antenna 9A by a transmission and reception controller 12 and received by the antenna 9B in synchronous relation to transmission. Next, the received waveform signal is converted to a digital signal to be subjected to analytical processing by an analytical processor 13 to obtain necessary tectonics data. When first measurement is completed, the antennae 9A, 9B are allowed to successively fall and the same operation is repeated until reaching a predetermined depth to measure tectonics. At this time, the receiving sensitivity of the antennae 9A, 9B is proportional to the product of the number of element antennae and directionality becomes sharp as the number of the element antennae increases and, therefore, when the interval between transmitting and receiving points is same, measurement can be performed with high accuracy and, when measuring accuracy is suppressed to a certain degree, the measurement up to a remoter place can be performed.</p> |
