PURPOSE:To obtain a rapid hardening composition having stable setting characteristics and workability of cement, comprising fine powder metallurgy slag mainly containing calcium aluminate compound and II type anhydrous gypsum as main components and further a setting adjuster. CONSTITUTION:A rapid hardening composition comprising metallurgy slag containing >=50wt.% calcium aluminate compound and II type anhydrous gypsum as main components and a hydroxycarboxylic acid or a salt thereof, lignin sulfonic acid or a salt thereof and an alkaline metallic salt as a setting adjuster, having stability to all kinds of cements and capable of securing setting characteristics and workability. The component composition of the composition is preferably 100 pts.wt. metallurgy slag, about 25 to 70 pts.wt. II type anhydrous gypsum and about 1.5 to 5 pts.wt. setting adjuster. The setting adjuster preferably consists of about 0.15 to 0.5wt.% hydroxycarboxylic acid or salt thereof, about 0.15 to 0.5wt.% lignin sulfonic acid or salt thereof and about 1.2 to 4.0wt.% alkaline metallic salt. |
