Equipment for breaking out and developing a roadway in closed or open tunnels by means of individual or groups of cutting heads (24) in the form of a shield. Vertical supports (16) prop up horizontal formwork beams (12), and self hardening material (52) is filled in on to the formwork (12) behind the cutter heads (24). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in ground unsuitable for tunnel boring. Finished lining immediately follows the cutting shield. @(12pp Dwg.No.2a, 2b/8)
