The bending a pipe or tube through a given angle with a given radius starts with bending at the required radius through the given angle and then allowing for the spring-back. The spring-back angle is measured and the tube bent through an additional angle equal to the spring-back. This operation may be repeated, if necessary, to determine the additional angle through which the tube must be finally bent. The value of the additional angle for each different bending angle for each different dia. tube of different material is noted and filed. The data can then be used to reduce the trial operations, when bending similar tubes in the future.
