Acetalically protected, enantiomer-pure alpha -arylalkane carboxylic acids of general formula (I), in which A, B, C, and D denote hydrogen or a methyl group in any combination, m and n denote the numbers 0, 1 or 2, where the sum of m and n must be 1 or 2, and in which Ar denotes substituted or unsubstituted aryl or substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl in any combination and in which R1 denotes branched or unbranched alkyl, preferably low molecular weight alkyl, their production and use.
