<p>A multi-directional switch assembly (24), such as a joypad or joystick for an electronic game apparatus (21), including a printed circuit board (50), a resiliently deformable member (43) having contact elements (44) thereon and a joypad input member (41) mounted to deform the deformable member to effect closing of the switches (44, 46). The input member is pivotally mounted by a post assembly (48). The post assembly is supported by the game apparatus housing (22, 61) in a manner which is independent of the printed circuit board to substantially isolate the printed circuit board from thrust forces manually applied to the joypad input member.</p> |
