<p>A valve (10) for controlling release of a pressurized fluid comprising a housing having a fluid chamber with an inlet (26) and an outlet port (30). A piston (34) within the housing is slidably movable between a sealed closed position and an open position. A collapsed support structure, when in a rigid condition retains the piston (34) in the closed position. When the support means is in a collapsed condition, fluid pressure will cause the piston (34) to slide to the open position of the valve (10). This support structure includes a pair of elongated supports (90) oriented in one of a dead-center locked condition when the piston (34) is sealed, and in an off-center collapsed condition allowing the piston (34) to move to its open position.</p> |
