The method of printing onto surfaces involves acquisition of a motif by a video camera. Conversion of the image into values by a computer and direct printing onto the surface by a printer controlled by the computer. One or more visual display unit workstations arranged between the video camera and printer enables the contents, colours and/or dimensions of the motif to be varied before printing. USE/ADVANTAGE - For printing images onto surfaces, e.g. of textiles, foils or paper. Enables motif to be varied and monitored before final printing.
