A device for separating light liquids comprises an inlet (500) for a mixture of a light and a heavy liquid, at least one separating chamber (400) for separating the light liquid from the heavy liquid arranged downstream of the inlet, a heavy liquid outlet (140) arranged downstream of the separating chamber, an overflow edge (170) arranged upstream of the heavy liquid outlet (140), a light liquid outlet (120) and a light liquid reservoir (70). The light liquid outlet comprises a light liquid equalization chamber (600), a dip tube (80) which leads downward from a point in the separating chamber below the overflow edge into the light liquid equalization chamber, and a light liquid outlet tube (100) which leads upward from the light liquid equalization chamber and is connected to the reservoir. The light liquid equalization chamber communicates with the heavy liquid outlet through a small opening (130) arranged between the bottom of the heavy liquid outlet and the upper end of the dip tube. In a special embodiment, a special preliminary spearating chamber is provided. The actual separating chamber (200) is so arranged in the preliminary separating chamber, into which the inlet (150) opens, that the light liquid layers which form in both regions are separated from each other. Dip tubes (80, 90) lead from the preliminary separating chamber to the light liquid equalization chamber. |
