Machine for breaking up glass bottles - has two parallel rotors which rotate in opposite directions

The machine is used for breaking up brittle objects, such as glass bottles (12). It has hopper (6) with an inlet (10) to receive the bottles. Two rotors (30,32) are mounted on parallel shafts in the base of the hopper and rotate in opposite directions with one of the rotors being driven by a motor. The gap between the rotors is smaller than the dia. (38) of a bottle. The rotors have radial arms (42) which force the bottles into the gap between the rotors. The bottle fragments (18) then fall into a bin (60) installed beneath the machine. USE - Recycling of glass bottles.
