PURPOSE:To identify the destruction of a memory content when a backup power source is exhausted by discriminating whether or not data in the designated area of a readable/writable memory coincides with decided data, and identifying the destruction of storage data. CONSTITUTION:By remarking the fact that all the contents of a RAM 3 are destroyed when the backup power source is exhausted, it is discriminated whether or not the data in a specific area that is part of the RAM 3 is correct, and it is identified whether or not all the storage contents of the RAM 3 are held correctly. In other words, when the power source of a microcomputer is applied, the microcomputer, after being reset by the program of a ROM 2, discriminates whether or not the data in the designated area of the RAM 3 coincides with the data decided in advance being written before the power source is disconnected. When the data is correct, it is judged that no destruction of the data in the RAM 3 occurs. Thereby, the destruction of the memory content can be identified. |
