A method of reinforcing thin rock layers of low compressive strength, in mining or tunnelling. Drill holes are made in the rock and a tube is inserted to the bottom of the hole, after which mortar is pumped into the hole through the tube, and a hardener is also pumped in and vigorously mixed with the mortar. The tube is then carefully withdrawn and the anchor inserted into the filled borehole. USE/ADVANTAGE - An economic method which prevents lamination of the rock.
