A frequency-doubled laser contains laser diodes as the pump light source and a resonator (R) comprising, in the following sequence, a first mirror (5), a laser medium (6), a Brewster plate polarizer (7), a non-linear crystal (8) which doubles the frequency and a plane outcoupling mirror (9). The use of the plane mirror allows the rays displaced by the non-linear crystal to remain within the limits of the beam even when returning through the crystal. In prior art the outcoupling mirrors are hollow mirrors which deflect rays displaced by the non-linear crystal away from the beam path. The laser obtained by the present invention is highly efficient and produces light of pratically constant intensity. |
