The observation unit has a taking lens (10) and an imaging registering held by a forked bracket (14) rotatable about the longitudinal axis (AA) so that the element (12) can swing about a tilting axis (BB). The element (12) can be turned about the optical axis (CC) by an electric motor which rotates the element to an angle about the optical axis corresp to the negative value of the angle that the fork is turned about the longitudinal axis. USE/ADVANTAGE - The imaging sensor receives a correctly positioned picture no matter what the angular position of the forked bracket.
