SINGLE STAGE CYCLODIMERIZATION OF OLEFINS

A multicomponent compound (blended) yarn is described. It consists of at least three components. The first component contains from 40 to 70 per cent by volume of thermoplastic fibres, the second component contains from 10 to 30 per cent by volume of polyfluorocarbon fibres, and the third component contains from 10 to 50 per cent by volume of fibre made of a polymer whose melting point is at least 20 DEG C above the melting point of the fibres of the first component. Processes for producing the yarn are also described.
The multicomponent compound yarn described is used for producing the sliding layer of plain (sliding-contact) bearings or of sliding ring seals.
