PURPOSE: To obtain a mirror blank for a telescope having a supporting mesh structure core by constituting the core of plural thin sintered ceramic struts frit-sealed to form mesh structure and first-sealing a surface plate and a rear plate (in the case it exists) on the mesh structure. CONSTITUTION: This mirror blank for a telescope is constituted of the surface plate 44 and the supporting mesh structure core 40, and the core 40 is constituted of plural thin sintered ceramic struts 32 and 36 frit-sealed to form the mesh structure, then the core 40 having the mesh structure is frit-sealed on the surface plate 44. The core 40 is obtained by preparing the slurry of powder glass which can be turned into glass ceramic, forming 1a thin strip 24 from the slurry, sintering the strip 24, composting and frit-sealing the strip 24 to obtain the hard mesh structure. Thus, the mirror blank where the plate and the supporting mesh structure are separately formed is obtained. |
