<p>Process for biological treatment of effluents containing organic matter in suspension and/or in solution, by methanic fermentation comprising two successive stages (20, 32) of anaerobic fermentation through a packed bed, the first (20) with downward flow, the second (32) with upward flow, characterised in that the two operations are separated by a separation stage (22) with recycling (30) towards the first stage of part of the supernatant liquid obtained and optionally of part of the separated sludge, in that the flow rate of the said recycle (supernatant liquid and optionally sludge) is greater than the flow rate of the effluent to be treated and preferably between 1 and 10 times that of the said effluent, and that the said process is applied to effluents to be treated which have a COD >/= 5,000 mg/l and an SM content >/= 1 g/l. <IMAGE></p> |
