PURPOSE:To extend the range of possible range finding, by providing an optical means which moves an image on a photosensor array located on an image forming point in at least one system of image forming optical system in two systems of image forming optical systems and switching and controlling this optical means in a plurality of stages of displacement. CONSTITUTION:Range finding components 1-6 are respectively located at a prescribed location in a housing 12. Windows 12a and 12b are provided at the left and right of the front surface of the housing 12 and the optical axes of the 1st and 2nd optical systems pass through the windows 12a and 12b in parallel. A reflecting mirror 6 of the 2nd optical system in freely rotatable with a shaft 6a, and a magnet absorbing piece 8 is provided at the tip of an arm member 7 projected laterally from the shaft 6a. Normally, the member 7 is drawn with a spring 9 so that the piece 8 strikes on a stopper 10 and the reflecting mirror 6 is held to the 1st operating state in which the normal is at 45 deg. angle to the base line. An electromagnet 11 is energized with a signal from a control unit 13, attracts the magnet absorbing piece 8 and converts the range finding system to the 2nd operating state. |
