Motor vehicle lamp - having lens secured to housing by solidified thermoplastics

Motor vehicle lamp has plastics lens with rearwardly extending peripheral lip which is received in a forwardly opening channel in a lamp housing and is sealed and held there by solidified thermoplastics. Pref. the lens and housing are heated to 150 degrees F prior to pouring the thermoplastics at 300 degrees F into the channels and thereafter cooling to solidify. Seal is strain-free and watertight.
