The device comprises a fork-shaped rocker (1) in which is rotatably mounted a roller (2) with a main toroidal surface (17) and an additional toroidal surface (18) gradually conjugating with the former surface. The device further comprises a means for creating a radial pressure of the roller (2) on the treated surface of the body of revolution and a spring-loaded slider (8) hingedly connected to the fork-shaped rocker (1) and co-operating with the means for creating the radial pressure. The generatrix of the additional toroidal surface (18) is circumscribed with a radius (R) centred on the axis (13) of the hinged connection between the rocker (1) and the slider (8).
