PURPOSE:To reduce a steering drive force by a method wherein a difference in the direction of the axis of each cushioning device is produced between a pair of suspension devices so that a total sum of moment around a king pin generated by a force exerted on rear wheel support members by respective cushioning devices on both sides establishes a specified relation. CONSTITUTION:In a rear wheel steering device 2 having suspension devices 42L and 42R having cushioning devices 18L and 18R containing coil springs 14L and 14R, king pin axes KPL and KPR are arranged laterally symmetrically about the center of a vehicle. Meanwhile, axes SAL and SAR of the cushioning devices 18L and 18R are arranged laterally symmetrically about the center of a vehicle. As a result, the direction of a total sum of moment around axes KPL and KPR generated by axial tension exerted on rear wheel support members 6L and 6R by cushioning devices 18L and 18R, respectively, is extended reversely to that of moment around the axes KPL and KPR generated by torque exerted on the rear wheel support members 6L and 6R along with deformation with coil springs 14L and 14R. |
