PURPOSE:To stably peel and remove a coating layer by successively interlocking a slide mechanism which moves forward and backward a multicore optical fiber placed and fixed on a positioning base, a clamp mechanism with cutters, and a traverse mechanism provided with a brush which sweeps away scraps of the coating. CONSTITUTION:A multicore optical fiber (cable) 1 set to a prescribed positioning base 3 is positioned between cutters 8 and is grasped. The clamp mechanism with vertically openable and closable cutters, the slide mechanism which enters into the cutter aperture part by sliding at the time of forward movement while changing the angle and pulls out the coating of the multicore optical fiber (cable) 1 to peel and remove it at the time of backward movement, and the traverse mechanism provided with a brush 17 which traverses and sweeps away the coating layer on the multicore optical fiber (cable) 1 are provided. These three mechanisms are successively interlocked by a simple driving mechanism consisting of a driving motor 9 and cams 13 to 15. Thus, terminal coatings of many multicore optical fibers (cables) are continuously and stably peeled and removed. |
