PURPOSE: To completely control the contents of collation by sending out a signal from a feeding module controller to an insertion module base controller when a collation error exists, allowing the insertion module base controller to respond to the error-signal, and activating a reject station to reject a bundle of documents. CONSTITUTION: When documents are sent as a bundle and inserted into an envelope, a signal is sent out from a feeding module controller to an insertion module base controller if a collation error exists. The insertion module base controller responds to the signal to activate a solenoid colliding with a deck 84 in a reject station. Thus, the deck 84 is allowed to collide with a roller 81 attached to a turning arm 82, and the envelope rejected by the turning arm 82 is swept out from the insertion module through an opening to reject a bundle of documents.
