PURPOSE:To enable it to secure safety navigation, by providing plural rudders for a vertical frame atop the hull at the quarter to maintain a ship course at the time of stormy weather, changing an angle of each rudder in order to keep the course constant. CONSTITUTION:A frame 2 is secured vertically into ship's longitudinal direction at the rear of a funnel 1 at the quarter. To the frame 2, prlural vertical rudders 3 for wind trim use are set up so as to be movable with a vertical shaft 4 which serves as a pivoting point. The rudders 3 are equipped with a swivel unit consisting of a hydraulic cylinder and a hing e device each, permitting them to change each angle in order, and each rudder 3 can be fixed accurately at an optional postiion. When a ship suffers a strong wind in the wake of stormy weather, the swivel unit of each rudder 3 is remote-controlled and the angle of each rudder is variable in proportion to a shift of wind and its velocity so that the course of a ship can be kept constant, in combination with the underwater rudder. |
