PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube with excellent contrast, without causing any reduction of both the quality of a picture surface and the yield of the manufacturing process of the tube, by distributing a light absorbing matter into the emission area of a light absorbing film during the formation of the said light absorbing film. CONSTITUTION:Partially magnified figures of a glass panel during the manufacturing process of a color image receiving tube are illustrated in figures (b-d). A resist solution, which contains 8wt% of microscopic glass beads 30 with a mean diameter of 15mu, is applied so that about 40% of a resist film 2 is occupied by glass beads 30 as shown in the magnified figure (b). Next, the resist film 2, after being exposed, is developed in the following developing process. As the result, as illustrated in a magnified figure (a), dot-like defects 33 are formed in resist stripes 8, which work as blue emitting areas, due to the effect of glass beads 30 untransmitting ultraviolet rays. Consequently, the contrast of thus made color image receiving tube shows 15% improvement on that of a conventional color image receiving tube. |
