PURPOSE: To supply a new cleaning surface to a fixing roll by coating the fixing roll with a liquid relapsing agent by a web impregnated with the liquid releasing agent and supported by two rolls whose positions can be inverted. CONSTITUTION: Either an unwinding roll 60 or a take-up roll 61 is positioned on either side of the fixing roll 52 and the other is positioned on the other side, and supported in a housing 63 so that a movable web 62 is brought into contact with the roll 52 along a path parallel with a vertical shaft. The web 62 is pressed by a continuous air bubbles foaming pinch roll 64 and brought into contact with the roll 52 so as to coat the roll 2 with the releasing agent. In order to supply the sufficient releasing agent by applying pressure between the web 62 and the roll 52, the roll 64 impregnated with the releasing agent is pressed to the roll 52 by a coil spring 74, and the releasing agent is surely supplied to the web 62. When or just before the web material is used up, the positions of the rolls 60 and 61 are inverted and the second surface of the web 62 is brought into contact with the roll 52 so as to coat the roll 52 with the releasing agent. Thus, the new cleaning surface is always supplied to the fixing roll. |
