PURPOSE:To manufacture an electrode having a catalyst layer uniformly mixed with an electrode catalyst and polytetra fluoroethylene by uniformly mixing the electrode catalyst made of carbon powder bearing the catalyst of a noble metal and fluororesin powder, adding water to it into a paste state, coating it on an electrode substrate, and heat-treating it. CONSTITUTION:Electrode catalyst powder and fluororesin powder with different dispersion/coagulation properties depending on the pH of a dispersion liquid are uniformly mixed in advance in the dry state, then water is added into a paste state, and it is coated on an electrode substrate and baked at the melting temperature of fluororesin. An electrode catalyst layer uniformly mixed with electrode catalyst powder and fluororesin powder is obtained. |
