<p>PURPOSE:To improve treatment efficiency by bringing air into contact with SO2 adsorbents on which SO2 has been adsorbed to desorb SO2 therefrom and feeding said air containing desorbed SO2 to a combustion device as combustion air to effect combustion, while increasing thereby the concentration of SO2 in the exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust gas containing SO2 from a combustion device 1 is brought into contact with SO2 adsorbents 10A, 10B so that SO2 is removed and discharged to the outside, thereafter air is caused to make contact with the SO2 adsorbents on which SO2 has been adsorbed to desorb SO2 therefrom. The air containing the desorbed SO2 is fed to the combustion device 1 as combustion air to effect combustion, increasing thereby SO2 concentration in the exhaust gas. Further, part of the exhaust gas prior to contact the adsorbents or part of the air after contact with SO2 adsorbents is delivered to the outside of the system. As a result, quantity of SO2 in the exhaust gas being discharged can be reduced and SO2 concentration in the exhaust gas or air having been returned to the combustion device can be raised, resulting in a smaller- sized treating equipment on the downstream side, also leading to improved treatment efficiency.</p> |
