<p>PURPOSE:To replace packing housed in a cylindrical vessel in a short time by filling packing into cylindrical cartridges separately, placing them in a cylindrical container, providing a gas nozzle and a liquid inlet nozzle on the shell of a column instead on the upper end plate. CONSTITUTION:A packed column 1 comprises a shell 24, and an upper end plate 21 and a lower end plate 18 disposed on the upper and lower end of said shell respectively, while a cylindrical container 2 housing gas-liquid contact packing 3 therein is provided in the shell 24 of the column 1. Gas to be treated is processed by means of absorption liquid by feeding absorption liquid from the upper part of the column and feeding gas to be treated from one side of the lower or upper part of the column. Cylindrical cartridges 20a-20c containing the packing 3 are disposed in the cylindrical container 2, each cartridge having a meshed bottom plate 4 at its lower part and a liquid distribution plate 5 at its upper part. Further, a gas nozzle 8 and a liquid inlet nozzle 9 are provided on the shell 24, which none of them is provided on the upper end plate 21. As a result, packing housed within the column can be replaced easily in a short time.</p> |
