<p>PURPOSE:To permit the manufacturing of an excellent self-reactive oxygen absorbent in a short time by placing the powder consisting of iron powder and metal halide and a mixture of water-impregnated porous granulated substance and powdered metal halide into a gas-permeable container. CONSTITUTION:After mixing metal halide in a state dissolved with solvent such as water with iron powder, the solvent is made to evaporate so as to attach the metal halide firmly on the surface of iron powder (the resulting powder is referred to as component A). A water-impregnated porous granulated substance is prepd and powdered metal halide is added thereto with mixing to form a component B. The components A and B are placed into a gas- permeable container such as pouch formed of a gas-permeable packaging materials such as paper and nonwoven fabric to form an oxygen absorbent. The components A and B may or may not be contacted with each other immediately before the reception thereof into the container. By the aforesaid method, the self-reactive oxygen absorbent can be manufactured in a short time, without its quality being lowered.</p> |
