The present invention relates to a tool for cutting solid material, said tool including a tool body (10) having a recess (12) and a cutting insert (11) having spacing means (21), said cutting insert (11) being received in said recess (12) and secured to the tool body (10) by brazing. A frequent problem when securing a cutting insert to a tool body by brazing is to fix the cutting insert in a correct position relative to the tool body before brazing alloy is introduced between the cutting insert and the tool body. If the cutting insert has a tilted position when brazing is effected, the brazing joint will have an uneven thickness. This in a negative way affects the ability of the brazing joint to absorb forces and turning moments. The present invention is characterized by supporting means (17) in the recess (12), said supporting means preferably being in the shape of an annular groove (17) and adapted to receive the spacing means (21). |
