PURPOSE:To shorten a time required for activating a program and to suppress the generation of an error by designating the program corresponding to the name of a medium through a table means. CONSTITUTION:When a medium 8 is mounted, a medium recognizing means 1 recognizes the medium name and delivers the medium name of the mounted medium 8 to an activation program information retrieving means 3. Based on the medium name, the activation program information retrieving means 3 obtains activation program information corresponding to the mounted medium name, to which the medium name is coincident, from an activation program information table 5. Next, the activation program information retrieving means 3 delivers the activation program information to a program activating means 4 and the program activating means 4 activates a program 6 by using the activation program information. Thus, since the program determined in advance can be activated by simple operation only to mount the medium 8 to a program activating device, the time is reduced for activating the program and the generation of the error is decreased.
