The present invention relates to a device for measuring the level and/or volume of a liquid contained in a tank, of the type comprising a capacitive probe including at least two parallel and separated main plates which are generally vertical, intended to be immersed in the liquid, and a capacitance measuring means 400 having a detection input and an earth, the detection input being connected to a first main plate and the earth being connected to the second plate. This device is characterised in that the capacitance measurement means 400 comprises an oscillator 430 charged by the capacitive probe, a means sensitive to the frequency of the oscillator and means designed for successively charging the oscillator 430 by capacitors 426 having a known capacitance difference, in an initial calibration phase. <IMAGE>
