<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the reset of a steering system to a neutral position against a driver's will by setting target steering torque during neutral resetting operation on the basis of a steering angle, and driving and controlling an actuator for resetting the steering system to the neutral position for making actual steering torque agree to the target steering torque. CONSTITUTION:An actual steering torque detection means A for detecting actual steering torque occurring in the steering system G of a vehicle, and a steering angle detection means B for detecting the steering angle of the system G are provided respectively in the system G. Also, there is provided a vehicle state detection means C for detecting the predetermined vehicle state for resetting the steering system G to a straight advance state (i.e., neutral position. In addition, target steering torque in the predetermined vehicle state is set with a target steering torque setting means D on the basis of a detected steering angle value, and an actuator E is so controlled with a control means E that the actual steering torque will agree to the target steering torque upon detection of the predetermined vehicle state, thereby resetting the steering system G of the vehicle to a straight advance state.</p> |
